Sandbag Clean Up Information
The City of Flagstaff will be undertaking a one-time sandbag clean up operation in your area! This voluntary clean up operation will happen over a two-week period, between May 26 and June 8, in the areas shown in the map.
During this timeframe, there are two ways to have your sandbag debris cleaned up:
Bring your sandbag debris to the curb (within City Right-of-Way) in front of your property. Please stack debris in a neat pile so we can easily remove it, no need to use a trash bag. City employees cannot go onto private property to remove sandbags, so please ensure that your sandbags are placed in City Right-of-Way prior to pick-up. The City will be picking up debris on June 1 and June 8.
Bring your sandbag debris to the City’s Cinder Lake Landfill (6770 E Landfill Rd) and we will waive the fee for you to discard debris. Please have a copy of your water bill to identify your address and let employees know you are dumping sandbag debris.
The entire suite of Spruce Wash Flood Mitigation Projects will be substantially complete in the summer and will alleviate the immediate postfire flood threat from the Museum Fire (2019). Please note that flood risk in the area will always remain.
