2024 Monsoon Season Recommendations

• For residents on Paradise Rd, Linda Vista Dr and residents south of Cedar Ave, no changes to sandbags or other temporary mitigations are recommended at this time. Only damaged outward-facing sandbags should be replaced. A self-fill sandbag station is available on Aztec St (in Thorpe Park near Frances Short Pont). Please note that the King St sandbag facility is no longer available this year.

• For residents of Grandview Drive, staff introduced the Interim Condition Flood Risk Map. This map will be valid for 1-2 years and reflects the reduced flood risk that will result from the Grandview Drive Improvements project (to be completed prior to the 2024 monsoon season). During construction of this project, crews removed sandbags along the roadway edge of Grandview and will not be reinstalling them. Grandview residents are advised to mitigate to the interim conditions map and place sandbags close to the home, not along the roadway. Residents can call the service request line at 928-213-2102 for an engineering assessment or to request sandbags.
